1. Much-awaited report on net neutrality in India has been released by Department of Telecom. The panel has emphasised on the user’s right to Net Neutrality hence guarantees consumers equal and non-discriminatory access to all data, apps and services on internet, with no discrimination on the basis of tariffs or speed.

2. There’s also good news for OTT (Over the top) messaging application users. The report says OTT messaging services “should be actively encouraged and any impediments in expansion and growth of OTT application services should be removed”.

3. However the users may no longer be able to make free domestic calls by appliactions like WhatsApp, Skype and Viber because voice calls made using the internet do not adhere to regulation, leaving telecom service providers at a disadvantage but it favours a “liberal approach” to international calls through these apps

4. When we make voice call using our mobile phone according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, costs the customer 50 paise but the same call whem made through internet it cost's 4p calls made through the internet , are nearly six times cheaper than those made through a conventional mobile network and even quality may be compromised due to fluctuating net connectivity

5. The document also leaves some issues unresolved  mainly the most controversial  "zero-rating model" according to the report zero-rating platforms would  be treated on a case-by-case basis and clearance sought from telecom regulator TRAI  so  finally it is upto TRAI to decide on services like Airtel Zero, which makes certain websites free to access on its internet service. Those websites pay Airtel for it.

---Net neutrality is the concept, according to which the ISPs and the govt should consider every internet equally, and not to differentiate in it broadcast on the basis of user, content, site or platform.

---It basically prevents the govt or other entities from blocking any content, which may be opposing their personal views, or can be considered as criticism of their policies.

---Regulation of any information on the internet is certainly undesirable, as it prevents the citizens from forming a wholesome view regarding an aspect.

---The corporates may bribe the ISPs to channelize their content more preferably, as compared to other sites and users. This can be detrimental to freelance writers, who do not have enough financial backing to equal that of the wealthy individuals.

---It is also possible that the citizens don’t get to know the other side of the truth, and they are forced into a biased opinion by the ISPs.

---On the other hand, the freedom of speech also has some limitations, as enumerated in Article 19(1)(a) of our constitution, according to which , any information which tends to disturb public health, public morality, international relations, etc. can be veiled in favour of the nation.

---In such cases, it becomes necessary to regulate such content on the internet. So we can say, that net neutrality is not a holistic concept which has to be followed in every situation. It is upto the wisdom of the govt, to allow/ disallow some content from broadcasting, while keeping the public well being in consideration.

1. BRICS bank launched in China as alternative to World Bank, IMF
i. A new USD 100 billion bank floated by BRICS nations, including India, as an alternative to the World Bank and IMF to boost infrastructure funding in the emerging economies and offer them tailor-made services was launched here today.

ii. The opening ceremony of the New Development Bank (NDB) was held here in China’s financial capital. Chinese Finance Minister Lou Jiwei, Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong and the bank’s President K V Kamath attended the opening ceremony.
iii. Kamath, 67, who will be the bank’s President for the first five years, said he was confident to deliver people’s expectation of the new bank.
iv. BRICS economies  Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa launched the multi-billion dollar development bank at the 7th BRICS summit held in the Russian city of UFA on July 8 amid efforts to finance infrastructure projects, mainly in member countries.

2. Union Government launches National Career Counselling portal
i. Union Government has launched National Career Counselling Portal in a bid to modernize all government-run employment exchanges.

ii. It was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the aegis of National Career Service (NCS) project of Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
iii. The web portal will be a one-stop platform for both job providers and job seekers where registration can be done online. It will provide basic platform for searching and applying for jobs on the portal.
iv. It will also provide candidates career-related counseling either by its helpline numbers or visiting these centres along with other facilities like job posting, aptitude assessment, job matching, training providers, skill courses and guidance on self-employment and entrepreneurship.

3. Bhanu Pratap Sharma appointed as Chairperson of FSSAI
i. Union Government has appointed Bhanu Pratap Sharma as Chairperson Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

ii. Presently, he is Health and Family Welfare Secretary was given additional charge of FSSAI for three months. Sharma is an IAS officer of 1981 batch from Bihar cadre.
iii. FSSAI is a nodal statutory agency responsible for protecting and promoting public health in India through the regulation and supervision of food safety. FSSAI was established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and operates under aegis of Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
iv. FSSAI has been established to lay down science based standards for various food products in order ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption. It also regulates the manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import of food products for human consumption.

4. Indian Railways and Odisha Government signed MoU for Dasappla-Bolangir Railway Line
i. The Union Railways Ministry and the Odisha Government on 20 July 2015 signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for implementation of Dasapalla-Bolangir segment of Khurda Road-Bolangir New Broad Gauge Railway Line on cost sharing basis.

ii. The agreement was signed by Ved Parkash Dudeja, Executive Director (Works) Ministry of Railways and Sanjay Rastogi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, Odisha Government.
iii. The project will be completed in three years of time after handing over of the land by the state. This Railway line running across the state from east to west will usher the six districts- Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Boudh, Subarnapur and Bolangir into a new era of development.
iv. The signing of MoU by Odisha Government will help in accelerating the development in the districts falling on Khurda-Bolangir line and will help create job opportunities in this naxal-affected state.

7. At 50, model-actor Milind Soman wins Ironman title in ‘‘toughest’ triathlon in Zurich
i. Model-actor Milind Soman, who turns 50 in November this year, has won the Ironman title at a triathlon held in Zurich in Switzerland on July 19 in which over 2,000 participants this year included seven Indians.
ii. The triathlon, organised by World Triathalon Corporation, includes a 3.8-km swim, 180.2-km cycle ride and 42.2-km run and is widely regarded as the world’s toughest race, which has to be completed in 16 hours by participants for an Ironman title.
iii. Of the seven Indians who participated in the race this year, five completed the race. Successfully leading the contingent was 11-time winner of Ironman title, Pune’s Dr Kaustubh Radkar, who completed the race in 12 hours and 32 minutes. This is Dr Radkar’s 12th Ironman title which now qualifies him for the Hawaii Ironman World Championship to be held in 2017.
iv. The event saw seven-time reigning champion Ronnie Schildknect taking his eighth title and declared the overall winner.

1.शंघाई में ब्रिक्स के विकास बैंक का काम शुरू
i.मंगलवार को चीन के एक सबसे बड़े शहर शंघाई में ब्रिक्स के विकास बैंक ने अपना काम शुरू किया है।
ii.ब्रिक्स के विकास बैंक का प्रथम प्रधान भारत का प्रतिनिधि है, उसका मुख्यालय चीन में स्थित होगा।
पेड-अप पूंजी की राशि 10 अरब डालर होगी (पांच सदस्य  देशों में से प्रत्येक देश द्वारा 2 अरब डालर का योगदान किया जायेगा), बाद में ज़रूरत पड़ने पर उस में 40 अरब डालर की वृद्धि की जा सकती है। अधिकतम संभवी पूंजी की सीमा सौ अरब डालर तय की गयी है।

iii.बैंक का मुख्य उद्देश्य – ब्रिक्स के देशों और विकास कर रहे देशों में इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर संबंधी प्रोजेक्टों का वित्तपोषण करना है। ब्रिक्स में रूस, चीन, भारत, ब्राज़ील और दक्षिण अफ्रीका शामिल हैं।
iv.इन दो नई नीति बैंकों के उद्घाटन से बीजिंग विश्‍व बैंक सस्‍थानों में एक मजबूत विकल्‍प के रूप में उभरकर सामने आएगा। इस दौरान विकासबैंक (एनडीबी) ने एशियाई निवेश इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर बैंक (AIIB) के साथ एक हॉट लाइन पेश करने का निर्णय भी लिया।

2.केंद्र सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय कैरियर काउंसिलिंग पोर्टल का शुभारम्भ किया
i.सभी सरकारी रोजगार कार्यालयों के आधुनिकीकरण के उद्देश्य को पूरा करने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने भारतीय श्रम सम्मेलन के 46वें सत्र के दौरान राष्ट्रीय कैरियर काउंसिलिंग पोर्टल की शुरुआत की है|
ii.यह पोर्टल केंद्रीय कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय कैरियर सेवा परियोजना के अंतर्गत शुरू किया गया है|
iii.यह वेब पोर्टल नौकरी प्रदाताओं और रोजगार इच्छुक लोगों के लिए एकल मंच प्रदान करेगा| इस पोर्टल पर ऑनलाइन पंजीकरण के माध्यम से इसकी सेवा का लाभ लेना संभव होगा|
iv.पोर्टल की मदद से पर 900000 प्रतिष्ठानों और कंपनियों को लोगों से जोड़ा जाएगा|

3.भानु प्रताप शर्मा भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा एवं मानक प्राधिकरण (एफएसएसएआई) के अध्यक्ष नियुक्त
i.केंद्र सरकार ने भानु प्रताप शर्मा (सचिव, केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य  एवं परिवार कल्याण विभाग) को ‘भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा एवं मानक प्राधिकरण’ (एफएसएसएआई/ FSSAI) का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त (अतिरिक्ति कार्यभार) किया है| उनकी नियुक्ति 30 जुलाई 2015 से प्रभावी होगी|
ii.विदित हो कि भानु प्रताप शर्मा, भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा के वर्ष 1981 बैच के बिहार कैडर के अधिकारी हैं| 4.उपराष्ट्रपति एम. हामिद अंसारी ने 'लोकेल,एवरीडे इस्लाम और मॉडर्निटी' पुस्तक का विमोचन किया
i.उपराष्ट्रपति एम. हामिद अंसारी ने एम. रईसुर्ररहमान द्वारा लिखित पुस्तक 'लोकेल, एवरीडे इस्लाम और मॉडर्निटी' का विमोचन किया|
ii.‘लोकेल, एवरीडे इस्लाम और मॉडर्निटी’ पुस्तक वास्तव में कस्‍बों का इतिहास है| पुस्तक के माध्यम से इतिहास में जाकर यह पता लगता है कि कस्बों की संख्या अचानक कैसे कम होने लगी और ये कैसे अचानक गायब होने लगे|
iii.यह पुस्तक औपनिवेशिक भारत को अत्याधिक बुद्धिजीवी और सांस्कृतिक गतिविधि के एक महत्वहपूर्ण और आकर्षक रूप में प्रस्तुत करती है| इस पुस्तक के जरिये लेखक ने बताया है कि क्यों स्थानीय निवासी प्रमुख पहचान सूचक बन गए थे और क्यों कस्बे अतीत की यादें दिलाते रहे हैं|

5.भारतीय रेलवे तथा ओडिशा सरकार के मध्य दसप्पला-बोलांगीर रेलवे लाइन के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर
i.ओडिशा सरकार तथा केंद्रीय रेल मंत्रालय ने लागत साझेदारी के आधार पर दसप्पला-बोलांगीर खंड में खुर्दा रोड से बोलांगीर तक नयी ब्रॉड गेज रेलवे लाइन का निर्माण करने के लिए एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किये हैं|
ii.इस समझौते पर रेल मंत्रालय (कार्य) के कार्यकारी निदेशक वेड प्रकाश डुडेजा तथा ओडिशा सरकार के, वाणिज्य और परिवहन विभाग के आयुक्त-सह-सचिव संजय रस्तोगी ने हस्ताक्षर किये हैं|
iii.खुर्दा रोड से बलांगीर (289 किलोमीटर) एक ब्रॉड गेज रेलवे लाइन होगी जिसे भारतीय रेलवे द्वारा लगभग 3050 करोड़ रूपए की लागत के साथ बनाया जायेगा. इस परियोजना को पूर्ण करने हेतु ओडिशा सरकार ने नि:शुल्क भूमि तथा खुर्दा रोड से बलांगीर तक बनने वाली रेलवे लाइन का 50 प्रतिशत व्यय भी देने की घोषणा की है|

6.वैट और सर्वि‍स टैक्‍स के लि‍ए एक्‍सक्‍लूसि‍व ऐप TAXO लॉन्‍च
i.अब आप इनडायरेक्‍ट टैक्‍सेशन सि‍स्‍टम की पूरी जानकारी अपने स्‍मार्टफोन पर देख सकते हैं। कारोबारियों या प्रोफेशनल्‍स को वैट, जीएसटी और सर्वि‍स टैक्‍स में लगातार हो रहे बदलाव की बेसि‍क जानकारी मोबाइल एप्‍लीकेशन टैक्‍सो (TAXO) पर मिल सकती है। चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट अतुल कुमार गुप्‍ता और उनकी टीम ने यह एक्‍सक्‍लूसि‍व ऐप लॉन्‍च कि‍या है।

1. Union Government launched Surakshit Khadya
Abhiyan
i. Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and
Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on 21 July
2015 launched the Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan, a
countrywide campaign, to create mass
awareness and capacity building for safe and
hygienic food.
ii. The initiative complements the widely popular
multi-media campaign Jago Grahak Jago which
empowers the consumers of its rights and
demands. This campaign, planned by CII and
Consumer Organization VOICE, and National
Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI),
is an effort towards building a culture of food
safety in the country.
iii. Under the campaign, nationwide sensitisation
sessions on cleaning, hygiene & sanitation for
safe food, Walkathons and Media dissemination
programmes for Consumers, Street Food
Industries will be organized across the country.
iv. The ministry also launched a website and a
logo of the campaign and also signed a pledge
for adopting safe food practices.
2. DD Kisan ropes in Amitabh Bachchan for Rs
6.31 crore
i. In what is claimed to be his most expensive
endorsement ever, Bollywood star Amitabh
Bachchan was roped in by Doordarshan officials
to endorse Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet
project DD Kisan for a whopping Rs 6.31 crore.
ii. The
channel was launched by Modi on 26 May at a
time when debt-ridden farmers were committing
suicide. Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgan, Kajol
and Salman Khan were considered as endorsers,
Hindu reported. Bachchan is already the brand
ambassador of Gujarat.
iii. E-mails and documents with The Hindu show
how Lintas India Pvt Ltd, an agency empanelled
with Doordarshan, drove a hard bargain with the
channel’s officials to have Bachchan endorse the
channel for Rs 6.31 crore after initially agreeing
to a sum of Rs 4.02 crore (Rs 40.2 million)
towards the total cost of celebrity endorsement.
3. NRIs can invest in NPS: PFRDA
i. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) can invest in
National Pension System (NPS) to get a social
security cover.
ii. While RBI
has communicated to PFRDA about NRIs being
eligible to make such investments, the
government will shortly come out with a
clarification on Foreign Exchange Management
Act (FEMA) guidelines to facilitate non-resident
Indians to invest in National Pension System
(NPS).
iii. Highlighting the importance of NPS scheme
for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), he said such
residents especially living in the Middle-East are
not having any mandatory social security benefit.
iv. The Pension Fund Regulatory and
Development Authority (PFRDA) is in talks with
lenders such as SBI, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank,
Indian Bank and several other south India-based
banks to tap potential of NRIs.
4. United Nations Security Council adopts
resolution endorsing Iran nuclear deal
i. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
unanimously adopted a resolution for endorsing
the historic deal on Iran’s nuclear program. It
was supported by all 15 representatives of
countries on the Security Council and opened
path to lift nuclear-related economic sanctions
on Iran.
ii. It also
paved the way for establishing a monitoring
system for Iran’s nuclear programme. UNSC’s
passed resolution marks the endorsement of the
Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
which had find out the final historic diplomatic
solution for Iranian nuclear issue in Vienna,
Austria on 14 July 2015.
iii. There was a decade long deadlock between
Iran and Western countries over the issue of
Iran’s Nuclear Programme and safety concerns
of uranium enrichment. Western Countries
especially US, had alleged that Iran’s Nuclear
Programme may be used by them to produce
enriched uranium to develop nuclear warheads.
5. Naomi Klein wins 2015 American Book Award
i. Noted Canadian author Naomi Klein has won
the 36th edition of American Book Award 2015.
She has won this award for her environmental
work This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the
Climate published in 2014.
ii. Apart from her, 14 others also have won the
award. Some of them are Marlon James (A Brief
History of Seven Killings), Carlos Santana (The
Universal Tone) etc. Poet Anne Waldman was
honoured with lifetime achievement award in this
edition of prize.
iii. American Book Award honours persons for
their excellence in American literature without
restriction to sex, race, ethnic background or
genre. The awards do not have any individual

6. Pipavav Defence inks pact with Russian firm
Zvyozdochka to refit submarines
i. Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group’s Pipavav
Defence and Offshore Engineering (PDOE) inked
a multi-crore agreement with Russian firm
Zvyozdochka, JSC Ship Repairing Centre.
ii. The agreement was signed in lines with Make
in India initiative for the Medium Refits and Life
Certification of 877 EKM Submarines in India.
With this, Reliance Group became the first
private sector Indian company to refit of
submarines in India.
iii. Both entities will execute the programme
under a joint venture (JV) company with an
indicative value of 11,000 crore rupees in which
PDOR will have 51 per cent stake.
iv. As per the agreement, Zvyozdochka will
provide complete technical support and
assistance to the JV Company. It will also
provide the enhancement of infrastructure at the
PDOC facilities in Gujarat and training of
engineers.
7. Ananth Narayanan appointed as Chief
Executive Officer of Myntra
i. Former McKinsey director Ananth Narayanan
on 21 July 2015 was appointed as the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of the Flipkart-owned
fashion store Myntra. He will assume the charge
on 1 October 2015.

ii. The White-shipping refers to commercial
shipping information about movement of cargo

iii. The Singapore Navy and the Indian Navy

Exercise (SIMBEX) together annually. In 2015,
the SIMBEX was held in May, this was the 22nd

4.इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मैन्युफैक्चरिंग स्कीम को 5 साल

i.इलेक्ट्रॉनिक
आइटम को बूस्ट देने के लिए सरकार ने ‘मोडिफाइड स्पेशल इंसेंटिव
पैकेज स्कीम’ (MSIPS) को पांच साल के लिए बढ़ा
दिया है। इसके अलावा, स्कीम का दायरा बढ़ाने के लिए
15 नई प्रोडक्ट कैटेगरी को इसमें शामिल किया गया
है।
ii.इसका फैसला प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी
की अध्यक्षता में हुई कैबिनेट बैठक में लिया गया है।
इससे ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ और ‘डिजिटल इंडिया’ कार्यक्रम को
प्रोत्साहन मिलेगा।
iii.साल 2020 तक भारत में इलेक्ट्रॉनिक प्रोडक्ट्स
की डिमांड 400 अरब डॉलर तक पहुंच
सकती है। इलेक्ट्रॉनिक सेक्टर में 100 अरब डॉलर
का निवेश आ सकता है जिससे करीब 2.8 करोड़ लोगों
को रोजगार मिलने की उम्मीद है।

स्मार्ट कार्ड, कंज्यूमर अप्लायंस (जैसे वॉशिंग मशीन,
रेफ्रिजरेटर्स, एयर कंडीशनर्स), इलेक्ट्रॉनिक

5.स्नैपडील ने सेलर्स लोन के लिए टाटा कैपिटल

स्नैपडील ने यह समझौता सेलर्स और ऑनलाइन

1. Union Government launched Surakshit Khadya
Abhiyan
i. Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and
Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan on 21 July
2015 launched the Surakshit Khadya Abhiyan, a
countrywide campaign, to create mass
awareness and capacity building for safe and
hygienic food.
ii. The initiative complements the widely popular
multi-media campaign Jago Grahak Jago which
empowers the consumers of its rights and
demands. This campaign, planned by CII and
Consumer Organization VOICE, and National
Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI),
is an effort towards building a culture of food
safety in the country.
iii. Under the campaign, nationwide sensitisation
sessions on cleaning, hygiene & sanitation for
safe food, Walkathons and Media dissemination
programmes for Consumers, Street Food
Industries will be organized across the country.
iv. The ministry also launched a website and a
logo of the campaign and also signed a pledge
for adopting safe food practices.
2. DD Kisan ropes in Amitabh Bachchan for Rs
6.31 crore
i. In what is claimed to be his most expensive
endorsement ever, Bollywood star Amitabh
Bachchan was roped in by Doordarshan officials
to endorse Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pet
project DD Kisan for a whopping Rs 6.31 crore.
ii. The
channel was launched by Modi on 26 May at a
time when debt-ridden farmers were committing
suicide. Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgan, Kajol
and Salman Khan were considered as endorsers,
Hindu reported. Bachchan is already the brand
ambassador of Gujarat.
iii. E-mails and documents with The Hindu show
how Lintas India Pvt Ltd, an agency empanelled
with Doordarshan, drove a hard bargain with the
channel’s officials to have Bachchan endorse the
channel for Rs 6.31 crore after initially agreeing
to a sum of Rs 4.02 crore (Rs 40.2 million)
towards the total cost of celebrity endorsement.
3. NRIs can invest in NPS: PFRDA
i. Non-resident Indians (NRIs) can invest in
National Pension System (NPS) to get a social
security cover.
ii. While RBI
has communicated to PFRDA about NRIs being
eligible to make such investments, the
government will shortly come out with a
clarification on Foreign Exchange Management
Act (FEMA) guidelines to facilitate non-resident
Indians to invest in National Pension System
(NPS).
iii. Highlighting the importance of NPS scheme
for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), he said such
residents especially living in the Middle-East are
not having any mandatory social security benefit.
iv. The Pension Fund Regulatory and
Development Authority (PFRDA) is in talks with
lenders such as SBI, HDFC Bank, Canara Bank,
Indian Bank and several other south India-based
banks to tap potential of NRIs.
4. United Nations Security Council adopts
resolution endorsing Iran nuclear deal
i. The United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
unanimously adopted a resolution for endorsing
the historic deal on Iran’s nuclear program. It
was supported by all 15 representatives of
countries on the Security Council and opened
path to lift nuclear-related economic sanctions
on Iran.
ii. It also
paved the way for establishing a monitoring
system for Iran’s nuclear programme. UNSC’s
passed resolution marks the endorsement of the
Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
which had find out the final historic diplomatic
solution for Iranian nuclear issue in Vienna,
Austria on 14 July 2015.
iii. There was a decade long deadlock between
Iran and Western countries over the issue of
Iran’s Nuclear Programme and safety concerns
of uranium enrichment. Western Countries
especially US, had alleged that Iran’s Nuclear
Programme may be used by them to produce
enriched uranium to develop nuclear warheads.
5. Naomi Klein wins 2015 American Book Award
i. Noted Canadian author Naomi Klein has won
the 36th edition of American Book Award 2015.
She has won this award for her environmental
work This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the
Climate published in 2014.
ii. Apart from her, 14 others also have won the
award. Some of them are Marlon James (A Brief
History of Seven Killings), Carlos Santana (The
Universal Tone) etc. Poet Anne Waldman was
honoured with lifetime achievement award in this
edition of prize.
iii. American Book Award honours persons for
their excellence in American literature without
restriction to sex, race, ethnic background or
genre. The awards do not have any individual
categories and since 2000, Lifetime Achievement
award is also given.
6. Pipavav Defence inks pact with Russian firm
Zvyozdochka to refit submarines
i. Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group’s Pipavav
Defence and Offshore Engineering (PDOE) inked
a multi-crore agreement with Russian firm
Zvyozdochka, JSC Ship Repairing Centre.
ii. The agreement was signed in lines with Make
in India initiative for the Medium Refits and Life
Certification of 877 EKM Submarines in India.
With this, Reliance Group became the first
private sector Indian company to refit of
submarines in India.
iii. Both entities will execute the programme
under a joint venture (JV) company with an
indicative value of 11,000 crore rupees in which
PDOR will have 51 per cent stake.
iv. As per the agreement, Zvyozdochka will
provide complete technical support and
assistance to the JV Company. It will also
provide the enhancement of infrastructure at the
PDOC facilities in Gujarat and training of
engineers.
7. Ananth Narayanan appointed as Chief
Executive Officer of Myntra
i. Former McKinsey director Ananth Narayanan
on 21 July 2015 was appointed as the Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of the Flipkart-owned
fashion store Myntra. He will assume the charge
on 1 October 2015.
ii. He will
succeed Myntra’s co-founder Mukesh Bansal
who is presently serving as the head of Flipkart's
commerce platform.
